Wrestling2014
We got to go to a wrestling match on Base this year, Rob even helped the coaches as the head coach was unable to make this match.
The guys did well even with a few injuries. It was helpful that we went as Rob was able to take few of our guys to the hospital which was about 20 minutes away. It is quite a task to navigate a hospital in a foreign country with no knowledge of medical terms in German. They walked away with a good experience the Doctors and Nurses were helpful and took great care of the guys (one broken arm and the other stitches above the eye) They were back in about 3 hours door to door and the bill was about 180 euro for both that had to be paid right then. Good thing for ATM's ! Not bad at all :) They even made it back for the last few matches.
Before we headed home a very generous mom from one of the other teams gave each of our guys money for dinner at the food court !! With that they got to enjoy some american fast food that you grow to miss living in our village. The boys seemed to be a split between taco bell and subway, as we do not have much access to mex-food here. It was a great treat! OH the things you miss are strange…..

Book Swap
A few weeks back our church here ran a book swap. What a great gift to our community :) You can drop books, dvd's or cd's off in the afternoon and then that night and the next day you can come in and shop. We do a one for one, or if you did not have any to drop off you could purchase one for a euro. With all the proceeds going to women's ministry events. There were books for all ages it was a very success event and I was happy to help with it !

Lost in France
For some reason I often get turned around and a bit lost ( even with a GPS )in France. I have taken this wrong turn many times and I do not think I could even drive here on purpose, but this is one wrong turn that always makes me smile! Lady Liberty! She stands in the middle of a rotary seemingly unnoticed without a place to pull over and admire her. Sometimes I just drive around the rotary a few time to have a look, but its hard to do that unless you are the passenger, luckily this time I was !
Near Colmar France, at least I think, I was lost.
Matt Helping
Matt helping us make tomato sauce for a lasagna at Maugenhard dorm. Its more fun to cook for large groups when you have a lot of help !!
Advent Wreathes
A very generous mom of one of BFA's students shares her talents with many in the community. Last year and this year she has gathered all of the ingredients to make beautiful Advent Wreathes and teaches us how to make a them. This year 95 women from the BFA community and local German women from Kandern got together to be creative!
Thanksgiving Dinner at the Dorm
We were blessed to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner with HBR one of the two dorms that we help out at. Here are a few photos from the night.
Thanksgiving in Germany
At our Bi-Lingual school we share how Americans and Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving with our German students and families. We do this with a Thanksgiving Day Festival. We also learned about how the local German community gives thanks at this time of year. The kids have a fun filled day of crafts, games, and a traditional Thanksgiving meal.
Games in the front of our school, we were blessed with a day withOUT rain!!
This is the pumpkin craft that I helped with.
